Mirra Skin & Aesthetic Clinic offer a range of medical grade skin peels and LED therapy to suit and treat a diverse variety of skin conditions. Our active acne treatment involves no medications and is a holistic and long term approach to treating skin.
The active acne treatment consists of Chemical peels (custom for the patient), manual extractions (to remove blackheads and congestion) as well as LED light therapy (to reduce bacteria and skin healing without having to get a patient onto antibiotics or topical steroids).
Our Chemical Peels range in ingredients from superficial to deep based peels to target skin concerns such as acne, congestion, pigmentation, melasma, fine lines and wrinkles. Our aim is to deliver results using natural based Chemical Peels to give patients optimum results with little to no downtime.
LED LIGHT Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive and pain free technique used to treat various skin types and conditions. As each LED colour emits different wavelengths, we can specifically target various skin functions by enzymatic reactions and increasing the cells ATP to promote healthy cell function and metabolism. LED light therapy comes in four main colours including Red, Blue, Green and Yellow which penetrate into the skin at different levels, providing various functions in the layers of the skin.
423nm LED is used – Penetration level of 1mm Benefits: Kills P.Acne Bacteria (Acne causing bacteria). Inhibiting sebaceous glands and preventing wound infection.A great alternative for patients to use during the treatment of acne, instead of prescription antibiotics.
Type Of Chemical Peels
Salicylic Peel
Ranging from 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% Salicylic Acid.
Salicylic Acid is lipophilic, meaning it loves oil! It is attracted to lipids in the skin and with its small molecular structure, penetrates deep into the skins layers dissolving away dead skin, oil and bacteria in its way.
Salicylic Peel is ideal for acne, congestion, comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), open pores and oily skin types.
During Salicylic Peel
The Peel will be applied evenly onto a cleansed skin and a second layer may be applied onto problematic areas. The Salicylic Peel is self-neutralising and does not need to be removed once applied. Patients can experience a slight tingle and warmth when the Peel is applied, which can be accompanied with some slight redness. However the sensations and redness experienced usually last under 5 minutes.
Post Salicylic Peel
After 30mins from having the peel the skin should be calm and settled.
1-4 days post peel dryness and light flaking of dead skin can be experienced.
Day 5+ skin should appear smooth and even.
